We typically book 3–6 weeks in advance for standard sessions. Large projects like sleeves and back pieces may require 6–12 weeks lead time. For rush bookings, contact us directly — we occasionally have cancellations.
We require at least 48 hours notice to reschedule. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice forfeit the $50 deposit. Life happens — we understand, and we'll always try to accommodate genuine emergencies. No-shows forfeit their deposit and may be required to pay a higher deposit for future bookings.
Occasionally, yes — but it depends entirely on the schedule. For anything beyond simple flash pieces, an appointment ensures you get the full custom design experience. We recommend booking in advance to guarantee your spot and give us time to create something truly special for you.
Absolutely — we encourage it. Reference images help us understand your aesthetic preferences, style, and what you love. That said, we never copy another artist's work directly. We use references as inspiration to create something entirely original for you.
Yes. For larger pieces, we'll share the design beforehand so you have time to review. For smaller tattoos, the design is often finalized the day of. Either way, we won't start tattooing until you're completely happy with the design. Revisions are included — we want you to love it.
Yes, we do cover-ups. The feasibility depends on the size, darkness, and placement of the existing tattoo. Cover-ups typically need to be at least 30% larger than the original. Send us a photo of your existing tattoo via the contact form and we'll assess your options honestly.
Pain varies significantly by placement and individual tolerance. Bony areas (ribs, spine, elbow, ankle) tend to be more sensitive; fleshy areas (outer arm, thigh, calf) are generally more comfortable. Most clients describe the sensation as a scratch or mild burning. Deep breathing, staying hydrated, and eating a good meal beforehand all help. We'll check in throughout and adjust pace to your comfort.
Eat a full meal 1–2 hours before (low blood sugar makes sessions harder). Stay well-hydrated. Get a good night's sleep. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the placement area. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before — it thins the blood and affects healing. Don't apply lotion to the area the day of. Arrive 10 minutes early.
Session length depends on the design's size, detail, placement, and your skin's response. A simple small piece might take 1–2 hours; a detailed sleeve can take 20+ hours across multiple sessions. We'll give you a time estimate during consultation. Take breaks as needed — your comfort is a priority.
The surface skin typically heals in 2–3 weeks. Complete healing of the deeper layers takes 3–6 months. During the first two weeks you'll experience peeling, itching, and possible minor flaking — all normal. Follow the aftercare guide closely and avoid sun exposure on the healing tattoo.
During healing: no swimming pools, hot tubs, or ocean water; no direct sun exposure; no picking or scratching the peeling skin; no tight clothing rubbing the area; no excessive sweating for the first 5 days. Read our full aftercare guide for a complete day-by-day breakdown.
You must be 18 years or older to receive a tattoo at our studio. We check ID for all clients, no exceptions. We do not tattoo minors under any circumstances, regardless of parental consent.
